(10k of course)

so damn friggin' proud of myself can?!

here's the lo-down of what happened.

fang's sister gwen was gonna pick me up at 445am, so i got up at 410am to get ready.

mind you, i slept at 1am, which means i only had 3 hours of sleep. the night before, i had 5 hours of sleep. can u even imagine how zombified and uninspired i was this morning?

the reason why we met up at such an odd timing was because the sisters wanted to have breakkie before the run and at the same time, to avoid the crowd + get a parking lot. so we reached at about 530am, in time to catch the commencement of the full marathon. we might as well have gone for the full since our 10k will not begin until 815am. ok im kidding.

having all the time in the world, we took a pee, rested at starbucks and eventually took a slow walk to the starting point. race started at 815 sharp and after 1k (or even less), i already felt like i was gonna die.

im not sure why, but i had very bad stiches, my calf muscles were aching, my throat was dry, and i simply couldnt breathe. so, i stopped running and started to walk instead. that is where i lost fang (she was super determined not to stop) and continued the rest of the marathon myself. of course i did run as well lah. so it was more of a run-walk thingy for me lah.

water stations were my best friends throughout the run. i couldnt have been any happier whenever i approach one. haha. after a lot of walking and some running, i made it to the finishing line at the 1h31min mark. the atmosphere was super high during the last 200m of race with blasting music and the crowd clapping, welcoming and cheering you on.

i must say it was a pretty awesome experience. hehe.

gonna have a nap now before heading out for sis' birthday dinner.
