possessing common knowledge that is relatively below that of an average person has made mr. seet's lecture yesterday a tad more interesting than usual for me. he side-tracked a little, and told us about the 2 major types of political believers in the states (which i never knew of).
the 2 major groups comprise of
1. the republicans, and
2. the democrats.
- the republicans believe that in order to maintain stability and world peace, the need for a strong military i.e. international police is crucial.
- the democrats on the other hand, favors social equality and harmony.
both george w. bush (senior) and the current us president george w. bush were/are
republicans. during the reign of bush (senior), a war with kuwait (was it the gulf war?) occurred sometime in 1991.
when president clinton ( a
democrat) took over, there wasn't a single war throughout his 8 years of sovereignty. accordingly, he went around different countries making peace with the people.
since bush (junior) stepped up, the whole iraq/pakistan/middle-east saga resurfaced.
the reign of republicans would prolly mean good business for the guns/missiles manufacturers, and the reign of the democrats would prolly mean zero or much poorer business for them. thus, i reckon the manufacturers would prolly vote for the republican(s) during election?!
